Rated 2 out of 5 by Geronimo from Great cooktop, awesome performance, poor quality I'm sad to say that after 3.75 years this cooktop died. Called local repair shops in Angie's List but none worked on these induction cooktops. Reluctantly called Whirlpool / KitchenAid and they dispatched Diamond Factory Service who I have had very mixed experiences with in the past. Fortunately this tech who was sent was great. The good news - the $680 part is under warranty. The bad news - 2 weeks not being able to use it and $220 of labor that I have to pay for out of pocket.

I like Whirlpool/KitchenAid, so much so that everything in my kitchen is KitchenAid except the microwave, but I'm afraid the quality - even since bringing manufacturing back to the US - isn't what it used to be. Aside from the sleek and stylish look it presents, it performs extremely well. Boiling water in a minute using the Boost feature. Excellent fried eggs. Incredible heat control.
